Buys, busy summer! Lots and lots going on right now. First, my TEDxBloomington talk is now archived on YouTube!
Also, I'm in the beginning stages of a brand new book project with Moebius Noodles which includes a collaboration between Maria Droujkova, Gord from Math Pickle and myself (along with a special guest). Here's a screenshot from our first meeting. And, if you haven't bought or downloaded your copy of the new Moebius Noodles book, don't delay! It's super fantastic.
Also, along with six weeks of K-6 programming through the Summer Arts for Youth program via Arts for Learning in Indianapolis I'll be presenting with my Teaching Artist Handbook colleagues at the HOT Schools Summer Institute in Connecticut.
And, through the generosity of the Lambent Foundation I will be attending a summer institute through the Harvard Graduate School of Education -- The Arts and Passion-Driven Learning with Yo-Yo Ma, the Silkroad Ensemble and Project Zero faculty. And, while I'm in the Boston area I've got an opportunity to tour MIT's Lifelong Kindergarten lab! I've been reading Seymour Papert's The Children's Machine and you can imagine how stoked I am to have a chance to meet and talk with the folks there!
I'm also looking for new contributors for ALT/space, the international online writing project for the Teaching Artist Journal. If you know someone working at the intersection of arts and learning who is doing interesting work and interested in sharing stories of their teaching practice with the field, send them my way!!
Have a very happy summer everyone!
